Cranberry Alarm Ri3D on Swerve

Our students took the CranberryAlarm Ri3D concept and tried to place it on a mk3 chassis but were unable to make it work. Any other teams tried the same? Willing to share any learnings from a swerve chassis with the motors on top?

Is it specifically the swerve motors getting in the way? And which motors are you using?

I don’t have experience with top mounted swerve, but I saw on the Spectrum Robotics Build Blog they are planning on using a perimeter rail system for mounting above the swerve modules. This is done with MK4i’s, but a rail solution like this might help

For the over bumper intake, you will probably need to play around with the side plate geometry and pivot location to make it work.

We have the mk3 series of swerve modules and using dual falcons for each module. We are mounting the modules to the top of the frame.

Take a look at our build thread: FRC Team 6925 Woodward Academy Robotics | 2024 Build Thread | Open Alliance

We use Mk4i, however the way we designed it, it should work for mk3.
