I hesitate to post this cause it’s a bit downer, but:
These are really cool models but if this is actually driving your prototyping in-season (as opposed to a fun project) I would suggest CADding – if you can, I know international teams can have it harder than US teams – these sorts of things because it looks like the above models only provide a general shape, not movement or mechanism viability, something that CAD can do easily (and allow for more precise dimensioning along with easy editing).
The main idea was test the first impression with FRC (the majority that created these examples are newbies, sorry for didn’t explain this on post), and yes, we used a little of CAD, but how they still training the basics of “things”, (e.g. searching robots, specifing the costs, etc.) we put this challenge to them while the veteran and rookies are getting prepared for the next competition.
