would it be possible in any way to get a high note to a robot and have the robot spotlight a stage?
Section 6.1:
Additional points are awarded if an ALLIANCE HARMONIZES (i.e. more than 1 ROBOT is ONSTAGE via the
same chain) and if HUMAN PLAYERS SPOTLIGHT ROBOTS (i.e. score a HIGH NOTE on a MICROPHONE to
increase points awarded for those ONSTAGE ROBOTS).
(emphasis mine)
but if a human player were to miss a shot and it landed on the field, could a robot pick it up and score on the microphone?
There doesn’t seem to be anything explicitly prohibiting this, though I would be surprised if we make it to competitions before it’s patched out.
It’s probably not even worth it though
Ultimate Ascent 2 electric boogaloo with far more strategic decision making required
Personally I love the strategy and gameplay balance this year. Also interesting with the human player.
Looks a lot like 2013, but with a few interesting additions and changes that still should provide interesting game play. Looks fun!
I’m not really involved much anymore but I’m excited to see the inspiration taken from Storm Surge! Excited to see how it turns out >:))
How do you expect defense to factor into this game?
Quite a bit, Bots are kind of forced into two main grooves, so the chance to cut off and delay is great, plus the penalty options.
Interesting, The visibility may be tough from some driver station locations to play defense if you are playing it across the field.
Not sure if that is true, just a thought.
It’s prohibited by G408 “ROBOTS, no HIGH NOTES”.
No I guess. Check for G408.
While G408 might say “ROBOTS, no HIGH NOTES” in the title, titles aren’t the rule and the rule only says you can’t score it in the speaker, amp, or trap. It does not say that a robot can’t score it onto the microphone.
The main point of G408 is prohibiting HIGH NOTES from leaving the field. The microphone is on the field, so that is legal.
Anyone afraid of these game pieces getting utterly destroyed?
Ours is already looking a little sus…
after a teamwide strategy meeting, low, fast robots are seeming more and more attractive. 2910 is going to have a great season.
