Quick question about the Trap scoring during endgame:
Does the note have to be placed while the robot has climbed or can your robot enter the stage, place the note in the trap, and then climb?
Think about the geometry:
The bottom of the Trap door is 4’8" above floor.
The robot is height limited to 4’ even.
And there’s a door.
If you can open the door and place the piece with the robot under 4’0", more power to ya.
It would be difficult to do. The bottom of the TRAP is higher than the robot can extend. And the TRAP’s door has to be pushed open.
But if you can manage that … why not?
At least 1 robot need to be suported by a chain to it trap count? Or if I score 1 GP in each trap my alliance gain 15 points regardless of the robots “on” the chains
Scoring a TRAP is independent of whether a robot is supported on the chain. But see the discussion above about how hard that would be to do.
You’d get 15 points, but no RP.
Yep. All teams going for the trap should keep in mind that the RP specifies two robots up on the chain.
Crazy idea: Jump and dunk a note into each trap. I am not serious, would not recommend this, and there may be a rule against jumping for all I know. (But we’ve seen jumping robots before.)
