cRIO communications problem

Our driver station is completely unable to communicate with the cRIO. Until this morning, the cRIO imaging software was unable to find it, but the Driver account knew it was there. Now the Driver account can’t find it either. We checked the wiring, and all we can think of is that someone accidentally shocked the cRIO, which we really hope is not the case.

Is the power light on the cRIO on?
Are the cRIO Ethernet port 1 status lights blinking?
Is the Robot Status Light on the Digital Sidecar on?

Yes to the first two; apparently we haven’t attached the robot status light yet though. Either that, or the electronics head didn’t understand my question about where it was.

The cRIO is probably fine then. It’s a pretty tough system.

The robot status light is actually built-in to the Digital Sidecar. We attach the big separate robot status light to the Digital Sidecar, and right where it gets attached is an LED that blinks and lights up just as the big light will when you do finally attach it. The big light just makes it easier for you and the Field crew to see.

It should be a blinking LED.

Turns out the cRIO got switched into safe mode, and we didn’t notice since the switch is tiny and not very clearly labeled.

Good catch. That is hard to notice.
