cRIO imaging tool

hi everyone,

i am fairly new to the programming system…i wanted to know if we are supposed to use the reimaging tools for the cRIO on the classmate netbook or on our programming computers since both are downloaded…what other purposes does the development portion of the classmate serve? Thanks everybody

Well as for the reimaging that can be done with this years reimaging tool installed on any computer it really doesn’t matter. As for the developer account on the Driverstation, it is just there so you don’t have to talk another computer to competion besides the classmate, in my opinion. I personally prefer a bigger screen when programming.

ok great thanks…how would you be able to download Wind River to the classmate for the competition if there is no disk drive to install it? Using a USB or something?

Yup! Either a BIG thumb drive or a USB disc drive for example.

You can use a USB DVD drive, copy it to a big memory stick or a USB disk drive, or rig up a drive shared over a network.

It’s a tight fit though to get Windriver onto the netbook.
You might want to consider keeping an SDHC in the Classmate card reader and installing Windriver onto that.
