cRIO in 2023 not connecting

Hey Guys!! We have a very old robot at our build space, and we are having a hard time connecting to it. It is our 2013 robot from Ultimate Ascent.

We have downloaded the oldest driver station firmware we can find which is the 2014 FRC Driver station which can be downloaded from the NI website.

Whenever we go to connect we simply get errors, no comms, no code, no nothing. Everything is getting power as it should, and I am getting stumped. Windows defender is off, as it would be with current driver station. We have tried connecting over ethernet to the radio, and wirelessly. The best part about it is, we cannot erase it. it has all the original labview code on there which has been lost to time. none of us know how to program in labview anymore, especially not using jaguar motor controllers.

If there is any information I can get regarding this, I will greatly appreciate. It is only me and one other member trying to get this thing chugging again.

Thank you for helping, and if you need any more info let me know I will try my best to get it!

sidenote: its a 4 slot cRIO II

Did you set your Driver Station PC to a static IP address?
That was required in those days.
10.TE.AM.5
255.0.0.0

I was thinking about that! I will try that when I get back to the build space! I will update when I try it!

Thanks!

I haven’t seen a cRIO since I was in highschool. I tried to explain to my current kids what HW we had back then and they look at u like ur crazy.

I always like showing this page to my students (ignore the deceptive link, it’s actually about the old control systems): Team358.org - Robotic Eagles - FIRST® Robotics Competition

Sir you are a godsend! it worked!! The robot sounds horrible and is a disaster in total, however we all would be if we were stuck in a graveyard for a decade lol. Thank you for the help!!
