Crowd control in the Edward Jones Dome

This was a real problem on Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon with a full crowd (~10,000 spectators) trying to exit the South entrance of the Dome at once. The stadium has four main exits for a reason - they’re required by building code for such big crowds. But only the South entrances were used those nights (we tried to use the North West exit on Friday, but were turned back by security guards).

FIRST needs to consider staffing and opening more connections between the dome and the pits, and between the dome and outside. The design of crowd flow is a real safety issue. A panic in the crowd (a fight, a fire, or a security threat) could send everyone pushing forward, crushing those caught in the bottleneck. People have died in such scenarios.

I believe it was the same last year as well, IIRC. I would agree that more thought should be put into this.
