The schedule has been updated. We have a great day planned for Connecticut and Rhode Island FIRSTers. If planning to come, be sure to register for the event so we have an accurate headcount for planning purposes.

I’m glad to be presenting at this event! Thanks CTFIRST for giving my little presentation a chance.

Jack Sneeringer (senior on 2791) and I will be doing a presentation advocating simplicity in competitive robot design.

Any teams interested in 501 c 3 non profit corporation formation? Make sure you get there early, I have a CPA presenting with me to answer question.

2791 will be there! We’ve just incorporated and our working our way through the 501c3 process right now.

1124 will be there! See you all Saturday.

Students and Mentors from FRC2168 will be attending as well as presenting.

Our Presentation Topics:

  • Drivetrain Design
  • FRC Competition Scouting and Strategy

Both are basic overviews with some insight and expecting some questions and discussion at the end.

See you there.

On behalf of my co-presenter Josh and myself we would like to thank those of you who attended our two presenations. We enjoyed it and hope that those who attended came away with a postive experience and good information.

We are working to get the presentations hosted on our teams website.

Also a huge thanks to the CTFIRST organization for putting this together, I expect this event to grow from year to year and encourage more teams to attend as well as present.

Thanks to CTFIRST for putting on a nice informative event, and thanks to everyone who came and saw Jack and I spend thirty minutes repeating the word “simple” as many times as we possibly could. We rushed the presentation a bit because we thought we had 30 minutes instead of 45, but it came out a bit better than I expected regardless and I’m glad people at least acted like they enjoyed it.

I got several requests to post the presentation online. I’ll put up something in this thread when I do. I want to add a bit more background and examples to the actual presentation, since a lot of the content was “talked but not written”.

I had a great time at CT FIRST University Day - I look forward to seeing it grow and I’ll definitely be encouraging more teams and individuals to attend and present in the future.

like me!

EDIT: …wow Ellen, you have 1380 more posts that I do. That’s a lot…

I saw Uberbotish people but I was having too much fun wrestling with CCSU audio-video Dalek projector controller thingie for the FLL room to do much networking. I think I got the last lunch served and had to do my wolf impression to get back for the afternoon sessions.

Perhaps we should have a CD meeting next year. (?)

Even having nametags that give your name, your team number and your CD username (optional) could be a helpful place to start from.

Our presentations (Drivetrain Design/Strategy & Scouting) were recorded by a mentor from another team. If anyone has any contact information or has seen the video replayed to you at one of your team meetings can you please contact me, I would really like a copy of the recording.

Thanks.
