I know this is a stretch, but has anyone received a CTRE Minion yet AND tried mounting it to an AndyMark Sport transmission?
While alignment of the two is simple, spacing them at the apporpriate distance is not so trivial. If you intend to combine the two you will either need to cut the Minion shaft, or inset a spacer between the two mounting plates to provide approx. .2" sepatation. This separation is to prevent the shaft from coming in contact with the first stage plate in the sport.
So, is there already a mounting solution, or is this something we need to design in CAD?
That is what our searching has shown as well. There might be an option with the Kraken Cut Shaft Motor Block (AM-5587) but that would require cutting the shaft which we prefer not to do.
To use the Minion motor with a Sport Gearbox you will need a yet-unreleased back plate since the combination of mounting geometry (shaft length, bolt circle and nose diameter) is so different from that of all the other compatible motors. You might be able to 3D print a compatible backplate and use the Sport Kraken Pinion, with a spacer behind it to get something that works. AndyMark will be waiting to have a Minion in hand before we release any designs for production.
