Cube Condition after 3 weeks.

With three weeks of competitions complete how are the cube covers holding up. I know just after the week 0 event our cube cover displayed some wear and tare. Are we going to need to make adjustments come week 5, 6, and beyond?

Other than a split zipper or three and a little bit of sag on some of the “well loved cubes” everything seemed fine at CHS Hampton Roads.

The sage was one of my biggest concerns.

A few torn covers but I have not seen much cube damage over three weeks of events. Very hardy game pieces.

Field reset crew has looked to be all over it with plenty of replacement covers for torn zippers and damaged bags at the two events we went to.

It didn’t provide any notable difference in performance for any of the intakes I saw (it actually improved ours a small amount)

Events I’ve attended either as a participant or Committee member have had very little need for replacement. I’d say comfortably less than 3 cubes per event need to be replaced or adjusted. Most cubes appear to be in great shape even after 3 weeks of use on the NEFIRST fields.

Kudos to the GDC for making a robust game piece.

We didn’t have any issues at all with cube condition. But then, our robot grabs them like people grab them, not with wheels

I recall seeing one cover come partway off a cube in an elimination match. I didn’t watch every match, though.

at least they are better than last years gear lifts.

The cubes at FLR seemed to be in great condition in all of our matches
