Hey all, I was just wondering something. Does anyone have any information on T70, Kettering University and Flint High School? I remember seeing them at 2000 Nationals, but all I can remember is the color of their team shirts. I’m just asking because that’s where I’m going for college and wanted to know everything I could about them. For instance, how did they do at regionals/nationals, what their bot was like, etc. If anyone out there has any info at all about this team, it’d be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Linda

Team 70, ‘The Auto City Bandits’ are sponsored by Kettering University (formerly GMI) in Flint, Michigan. They come from Flint Powers High School (a private Catholic school in Flint.)
They wear blue shirts and wigs when they are playing. Their robot couldn’t go under the 3 foot bar but could score and was a pretty good pusher. They could hang but sometimes their large base prevented them from doing so in relation to the peak of the ramp.
Hope I have been of help.

I am a member of team 70, and have been for the past 2 years. We are looking for all the help we can get as we have not been as successful as we would have liked in the past. We made great improvements to get last years robot to get to the point we are at now.
The team consists not only of Powers, but of students from GASC, ‘Genesee Area Skills Center’. We are split around 50/50 between the schools while most of the coaching comes from the GASC side of things.
Hope this helps.

Erin and Bill: I thank you both for giving me some insight on T70. I didn’t want to go into another team without first knowing something about them. I appreciate your help very much. =)
Bill, I hope you and your teammates are up for some crazy ideas, cuz that’s what I’ll provide. =) I’ll hopefully get to met you sooner or later, once the 2K1 season starts, and we could come up with some awesome ideas for next year’s robot. Are you familiar with my former high school team, 131, CHAOS? If not, I’ll have to tell you all about it. I probably picked up some great strategizing skills from Dave Kelso, CHAOS’ advisor, and some machining as well, so hopefully, I’ll be of some help for the Auto City Bandits. =) Has your team decided on what regionals you’re attending? Maybe you could keep me informed through email as to what the team is up to, since I won’t be out that way till first week in January. My email address is [email protected], so write me if you feel like it.
Again, thanks to you both for letting me in on what I’ll be coming into.

Hey Linda,
Just had to throw my 2 cents in =) T70 were next door neighbors to my old team #69 - HYPER. Though I didn’t get a chance to talk too much to them at Nats, the people I did talk to over the past few years were very friendly, and they seemed like a great team, and I think that’s even better than having a bot come in #1 =) Have fun with them, and well, coming from CHAOS, things should be getting interesting in Michigan =D
