wow, that thing is insane! good job guys. it looks very fast, can turn easy, and I love those wheels!
what kind of wheels you have there? do you also have the middle wheel down 1/8"? good job guys
Is it using kit wheels in the front and back? Not worried about wasting traction with them?
(looks at video)
(jaw drops)
oh. my. goodness.
If I had a “That’s Pimp” button (or a derivative thereof), I’d give it to you.
delicious…thats my 1 adjective for this robot!
I hope we get to see another killer 234 arm this year:)
I’m pretty sure it’s 1/4" down :]
We’re using four 8" pneumatic skyway wheels on the corners and two 8.5" pneumatic wheels in the middle of the drive. We aren’t worried about wasting traction, remember the wheels do lift up when we’re turning because of the 1/4" difference between the skyway wheels and the center wheels. The video demonstrates this pretty well.
I think there are some “David Kelly says ‘That’s Pimp’” buttons floating around here somewhere…
We need to thank John VN for some of that speed. Great job on the brain work and drawings for those transmissions.
Very nice! We built something kinda similar, except we have a skid on each corner (four, all together). You’d have to see it to get a grasp of what we can do. Because we have just two wheels, we didn’t build custom transmissions.
We are not using the stock gearboxes from the kit. Our robot has a different set of gearboxes that JVN designed and we made our desired modifications on. Pics will come later, and you will see that our shift-on-the-fly gearboxes aren’t the same as what came in the kit. :]
