Dashboard not showing up on driver station

When we initialize our driver station, the main part of it with the enable/disable buttons and stuff shows up, but the dashboard that should show above it where we can access the camera feed doesn’t appear. We’ve tried selecting the different dashboard options like default and labview, but nothing happens. Please help. Thank you!

Go to the settings tab on the left side of the driver station, and in the drop down, select whatever programming language you are using, or default if you haven’t done a custom dashboard.

Take this Dashboard.exe and drop it in
C:\Program Files (x86)\FRC Dashboard

Dashboard.zip

We’ve tried that, it doesn’t work for some reason.

When I try to drop it, it says access denied.

You probably have to be Administrator to use that folder then.
That would be part of the problem of why you’re having an issue with Dashboard.

Here’s the complete folder. You can put it on your desktop and run the Dashboard by hand from there until you clear up the access problem.

FRC Dashboard.zip (1.91 MB)

FRC Dashboard.zip (1.91 MB)

Our team’s been having the same issue ever since the new driver station update as well, haven’t tried reinstalling the dashboard yet. Seems odd for sure.

Our team had a similar issue. Then did the 17.0.1 upgrade, hint hint, problem was still there.

At that point realized that hibernate wasn’t hibernating and Dashboard was actually running (hung) and headless. So a Power-cycle-reboot fixed it.

I am puzzled. Why does the Dashboard.zip file contain an exe that is a different size than the exe file in the FRC Dashboard.zip file? Both report file version 17.0.1.6. But the size of the exe in Dashboard.zip is 2,186,752 bytes and the size of the exe in FRC Dashboard.zip is 2,180,096 bytes.

Do either of them come from installing FRCUpdateSuite_2017.1.0.zip?

I’ll answer my own question. I installed the FRCUpdateSuite_2017.1.0.zip update on a computer that had no NI utilities installed earlier. The result was a Dashboard.exe file that is 2,135,496 bytes and reports version 17.0.0.16452.

We had the same problem, and fixed it by using Doug Norman’s suggestion 3 in his post in the thread below. (Windows control panel ‘uninstall/change’ of the “National Instruments Software” group, and then select only the 2017 Driver Station product and click Repair.)
