Hey All!
In the Philly finals it was declared that robots must swap out so all 3 robots play (nothing wrong here). But then it went on, even if the robot were dead. Now this is the opposite of what the rules say, and our team was concerned, because in the quarter finals one of our partner’s timing belt was damaged, and their gears were semi-melted. I went up to someone I knew (he’s a mentor on our team) that was a crew member, and asked him about it. He asked me if I was sure the rules were what I said they were, I said yes, and he went to talk to Woody Flowers. Right after that Woody said they were wrong before, and dead robots didn’t have to play. I’m posting this because I’ve seen a lot of posts about entaglement and other 'dq’ing decisions where people were really upset at the refs (and I agree with most of those posts), and I wanted to show how great FIRST is. I mean, if some non-important high school kid (me) can get the rules corrected, that means that they really listen to us. Thanks Woody, and Thanks FIRST!
Stephen
btw, in the other regionals, did dead robots have to play?
