Looks like Deanie is working with the government to make the worlds first fully robotic arm for amputees. Who knows, maybe some of us will see the prototype at nationals… that would be cool
I see I’m not the only avid digg reader …
Its cool hearing about Dean’s projects, especially through non-FIRST sources such as digg.
EDIT: Heh, seems you were beat to posting by just under 3 hours - ( http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=55524 )
Post already exists about this.
Actually around 8 hours ago if not earlier, he gave a speech at Bayou Regional and he showed us the arm. All of us were amazed and I even saw many engineers and students talking about how they could complete a similar task. I think Dean said it has 16 degrees of freedom or something like that and so that is one more step for science and technology.
(…wow…Houston is a long long drive from New Orleans)
