So I’m in the FIRST In Michigan District, and I interviewed over the phone for a week four event. It’s been a few weeks now, and I’m yet to get back any information about the when the plan to announce the winners. The same thing goes for chairman’s, I heard that for upcoming competitions they would judge the award based solely on the essay. I was wondering if anyone has an idea of what’s happening, or knows what’s already happened, or is going to happen in other districts?
It’s the same for regionals. I think FIRST is still trying to figure out how best to recognize the finalists and winners before they announce anything.

I know of friends who have heard back who interviewed for Dean’s List this past weekend, specifically for FiM Livonia and FiM Lakeview, however I also interviewed this past weekend (FiM Belleville), and have not heard anything yet. I suspect that each individual event has a bit of flexibility with timing. If I remember, I’ll post here when I hear anything about Belleville. Overall I’d just recommend being patient. The judges do all have jobs and lives, so getting everything judged and announced is probably not their largest concern at the moment. Speaking of which, I’ll say a quick thank you to all the judges and volunteers who have been taking time to continue with those roles despite everything being crazy right now. You guys rock!

2 of my students got interviewed yesterday, Tuesday for their Week 6 event.
Its great that volunteer judges and event coordinators are still willing to do this despite the situation.

FIRST Canada is hosting two special Online Awards Galas on April 16th and 30th to announce their award winners.
