Remember, Spell check is your friend! ;)[/quote]

Don’t Canadians spell it that way? Someone should cheque on that…

Don’t hate on the Canucks! Canadians are people too.

Thankyou for pointing that out, we indeed spell it like that. :yikes:

Thank you!

So do the UK teams.

It’s only us folks here in the States who don’t understand the Kings English!

defence defense

I just did a spell check and both passed. Why is it that Americans always botch up the English language? Take U out of colour and what is left? I guess that we will just have to live with it, EH!!!

i will blame this on the fact that i lived in Rochester which is close to Canada and i still have a lot of their change floating around. Basically if i can use their money in our vending machines i can spell defense their way also…Wait i just spelled it wrong…grrrrr.

was that a good defence? :stuck_out_tongue:

My apologies. Next time I’ll check who’s Canadian first.

its not that I cant spell, I’m just being international. . . . I like it

Good: We got rid of kings, just so we don’t have to put up with weird spelling, warm soft drinks, organ meat, and driving on the left.

Bad: In return for giving up royalty, in exchange all we got was fast food, harsh vowels, and the Kennedy family.

Dude, you are an independent country now! Give up those excess vowels and join the US in freedom and liberty!! You already drive on the right and run household appliances on 120VAC: it shouldn’t be too big a leap to abandon the whole Queen’s English thing.

You’re right. When I did my initial check, I was using ieSpell (with the U.S. English dictionary. – When I switched to the Canadian or U.K. dictionaries, it told me MY way was wrong. :o ) I didn’t notice that when I used the CD spell checker, it didn’t catch the “misspellings”. (Actually, I guess it wouldn’t, since all of them were inside [quotes].)

Well now that the lid is off the pot…as a simple man raised in Ahia, why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Ken

For the same reason a shipment goes by land and cargo goes by sea!

Also for the reason that the only countries that drive on the left (to the best of my recollection) are islands. UK, Japan, Australia, New Zealand…

whats a motor and whats an engine? . . .

I have always wondered that…silly people who name these things :stuck_out_tongue:

Why do we sit in the stands at an event?

Kind of like cough color cough not colour. :stuck_out_tongue:

Greg,

Did you ever consider that someone back in the history of the States had to start these misspellings, and thereby changed the whole course of American English?

Your constant prodding to spell things “correctly” is probably retarding development of the language immensely! 200 years from now, your descendants probably won’t even recognise “CUL8R”.

wlel I konw taht I can raed. And if you can raed tihs tehn you can too. Terhe was a sudty taht dalet wtih the hamun bairn, and how it raetcs wehn wrdos are msisellped. As lnog as the fsirt and lsat lteters are the smae as tehy nrmolaly wulod be tehn a preosrn can raed it.

So basically this just shows that spelling really doesn’t matter at all.

It depends on whether you are Jeff Gordon or work for Burlington Northern…
