Delphi Automotive Systems has changed their names.
We are now just Delphi.
To add to the confusion, Delphi has acquired the Delphi.com website.
This is not a big deal except that it is kind of weird in that Delphi.com used to be a huge discussion forum site and ChiefDelphi.com was (and is) also a popular forum site. And now… …the company that sponsors the ChiefDelphi.com site (indirectly) has bought the name of the Delphi.com domain name. IT IS ALL SO CONFUSING!!???!!!
What make it really confusing is that at www.delhpi.com, they only have a tiny little notice on to top right corner of their page directing people to the new page of delphi forums. I am not even sure that forum is the one Joe J is talking about.

Its not true… Delphi Delco (our divison in Kokomo) makes car radios, speakers and accessories (Monsoon Divison)
Also when my dad worked for Delphi, his line created parts a regulator for a car that limited how much exhaust came out of the tailpipe…(some gas regulator) It went on toyota cars in the late 90’s, but im not sure if the line is still around.
Yeah, I wasn’t sure, but I thought that when we went on the tour fo the plant in Kokomo, they handed out the pamphlets and I thought they said that they also make acceleratometers (spelling?), or g-meters for airplanes, and some other stuff.
Ok…now that we’ve got the name thing straightened out…
What do the actual Delphi employees think of this new “name”…Do you guys just think of it as another day and move on…or do u think its a great change??
One thing that i notice about the name is that since we have a Delphi here in Kokomo, i normally just here it as Delphi and not Delphi Automotive Systems…
Greg is right, the reason of the name change is due to the number of products we sell to non-automotive customers. Along with the Segway business, we sell product to the airline manufacturers and consumer electronics businesses.
Times, they are a-changin’. Now, if that stock price will keep going up, Delphi will be a very happy place.
