I’m trying to detect the apriltags with a raspberrypi using tensorflow, is there another way to detect the apriltags that isn’t photovision, or how can I detect the apriltags with tensorflow well. If you can show me an example, I will be grateful with you.
What’s wrong with using photon vision?
You could build your own neural network for detecting April tags with TensorFlow and use some fancy math to calculate the distance based on its size.
At this point in the season, I’d highly recommend using photonvision. I admire your effort to innovate and develop your own software, because it is exactly this drive that pushes boundaries and moves the community forward. However, with only a few weeks until competition, I’m sure you have plenty of work to do and using the Apriltag data calculated by photonvision is already enough of a challenge. Again, I can’t recommend photonvision enough because it removes the frustration of developing your own algorithm while still leaving so much room to develop how you will use it.
