Display of Retired Robots

Reading the threads, some people mentioned that they have display cases for there older robots.

Anyone have pictures of these?

What do other people do with them?

We would like a display case, but for now ours are in a storage room.

We dont have display cases, but we have the “robot walk of fame” or something…and its all the previous years robots lined up so u can see them as you walk into our shop (some of the robots are in better condition than others)…we still even have the 1992 robot:D

(i’ll get my digital camera and see if i can get a good pic…)

yeah, that robot walk of fame is pretty tight:D. i wish we had one. the robots from our first 2 years went to the dumpster:(

We use ours for Demonstration ans exhibits. It helps us gather donations from sponsors. Then we use it to do revers engineering.

Some of ours are in very bad condition, or have been disassembled for parts or other purposes. The arm system of our '99 machine is being used to build a community service project to give to a local facility for special needs kids.

The one robot we consider “sacred” and intend to keep in original condition is our winning '98 machine.

We had to disassemble our first two robots. They didn’t have computers or anything, and they were taking up space, and we were moving to a new school building, so the two oldest FEDS had to be disassembled. We still have our 2000 and 2001 bots, though, currently sitting in the RHS drafting room as we do not have a shop this year.

Another one from an off-season comp (OCCRA) is sitting in our team captain’s living room. Her mom isn’t too happy about that, but I think that it makes a wonderful decoration for her living room.
