District championship invitation declines

How often do teams decline invitations to their district championship? I couldn’t find any definitive source so I made estimates.

I know that I’m missing when a team declines and their replacement is tied with them. Also, I don’t know what’s up with 2014 Michigan. This seems like an implausibly large number. I welcome any corrections.

The format is:

2014 one team declined in fim, 5114

(i wish i still had access to the old district point excel sheets that were published every week on FiM’s website)

it looks like 3322 might be the team screwing with your query - it looks like there’s a bug with their second event, TBA thinks they got 15 from their second event but in reality they got 49 points.

PNW 2022 data is incorrect, 5970 did not qual for DCMP, TBA gives incorrect data due to a bug with clackamas scores. 1983, 1778, and 8051 did not have enough points to qual.

Could you double check the pnw 2022 numbers? 1432 definitely declined this year - 1983, 1778, and 8051 would be the next 3 on points who didn’t go but I’m not sure who had less points than them and got invited if they declined. 5970 is also several points lower

Edit: Alex beat me to it and yup the clackamas error would make sense. TBA awarded 10 playoff points to the wrong semifinal team due to a replay.

2013 FMA (MAR) doesn’t seem correct. It might be 4637 (who won RAS at DCMP but didn’t actually attend) screwing with your numbers, but I’m not sure. I believe (but am not 100%) that the correct number of declines is 10, but that also includes several teams who had qualified for CMP prior to DCMP (25 via 2012 championship, 341 & 365 via HoF, 2016 via Buckeye RCA).

Not positive about the 2015 and 2019 FMA numbers, either.

I appear to have most or all of 2014’s sitting in my downloads folder.

PNW numbers are not correct due to the clack error

we sadly did not go to dcmp as we didnt qualify

3044 is not part of the MAR district, so I guess geography technically did decline our invite :slight_smile:

Lol. I thought there would be some errors but that was not one of the types of errors I thought I would see. Thanks for pointing that out.
