DIY Labview Simulator

So I got my wisdom teeth pulled, and I was sitting around bored, and figured it was high time to try again with my own DIY Labview Simulator server, since the one that came in the kit last time was unable to take custom robot builds, and I wanted something that could take commands easily and render them. Had any advances in adding something that can either emulate the CRIO or better connect the outputs of motors and inputs of sensors into hooks for a greater emulator cropped up, or are we still in the dark for how to do that?

The one that was shipped last year is used at universities and in industry. It is a capable simulator, but the robots are simple, and it really needs a desktop machine to run well. It is expected to ship with a better field this year, and in fact is being used for the offseason competition right now. Joe Ross posted about it recently.

Do you have any deets on that post? I know that importing CAD was a pain in the rear with the 2013 system, and if there is a known workaround, that would a nice thing for this upcoming year.

EDIT: This is what you’re referring too? I’ll look into this and ask some more in depth questions later.

I think that importing CAD was more than a pain. The tool wasn’t included or documented. The details about this coming season are still somewhat in flux, but again, the point of the tool at the moment is to assist in learning how to program a robot with plenty of sensors. The link you posted was the correct one for the competition.
