i’ve been trying to learn the basics of the whole snakeeyes/rasberyPihat / photon vision thing and i can’t connect to the dashboard on my laptop could it be because i’m trying to use the bult-in camera and not a webcam?
It all depends on how you have it configured. For photon vision I believe you first have to go in and set your ip correctly and then set up you camera on their web dashboard. Also if you are using a rpi cam or similar device you should refer to photons docs on how to set it up
Pictures or a detailed description of the hardware and connections you’re using would be helpful.
The SnakEyes Hat is only a power supply, high-power LED’s, and a mount point for the camera. Nothing that specifically drives or prevents a specific camera in photonvision, though.
Even with zero hooked up functional cameras, I still expect that you should be able to reach the photonvision UI (It just won’t show any camera streams). I’d start with that. What’s the chain of devices between the computer trying to access the UI, and the coprocessor running the UI?
Yes, it could be your camera. “If you are using a USB camera, it is possible your USB Camera isn’t supported by CSCore and therefore won’t work with PhotonVision.” try some of the troubleshooting steps if your haven’t already Common Issues / Questions - PhotonVision Docs
