Hey everyone… I know there have been car theads, but I want to know if you own a classic or antique car. I got a truck as a gift a few years ago, and well if haven’t done anything with it, in fact it is still sitting on my grandpa’s farm. It is a 1949 Chevy.
I have a classic car. 1989 Honda Civic… 4 cylinder… one of the best muscle cars ever made
I own a 1968 Ford Mustang. I’ve owned this car since March of '98 and have been slowly restoring it. I take it to the local shows and cruises only. I don’t use it as an everyday commuter car. It has the original (numbers matching) 289 2v, C-4 automatic tranny, and 2.79-1 rear end. The car is stock except for the aftermarket dual exhaust and Cragar Street Star rims and Kelly Charger tires. I have chrome Shelby exhaust tips I want to install. It is an Acapulco blue coupe with standard black vinyl interior. It’s original options were the 289, automatic, power steering, AM radio, deluxe seatbelts, whitewall tires, and deluxe wheel covers (wire wheels). Everything is still there except for the wheels.
It originally came from Costa Mesa, California and I have some of the original paperwork. The original owner moved to Connecticut in 1988 and sold the car in 1993. It changed hands several times afterwards until 1998 when I became the 5th owner. I’m keeping the car almost stock since it has a known/traceable history, original paperwork, and original drivetrain to the car. This car is worth more that way and with just bolt on items like the exhaust and wheels it can easily go back to dead stock if desired.
[EDIT] I have a “Who Am I Pic” with me standing in front of the car. I just have to wait for Elgin to send it to me since it’s on his digital camera.
My dad has a 1965 VW Beetle that has been just about completely restored. The upgrades are rebuilt 1600cc engine and new 4spd trans and a sound system with boom tube and an alarm.
i have a 1989 Ford Bronco and let me tell you it shows it i have a strange suspision that the rust is whats holding it together which is why i havent washed it in over a year
Yeah, Jay… I’ll send you that as soon as I get a moment. (and find your e-mail address that you just gave me the other day)…
Anyways, There is a classic car in my “Who am I” pic, but that’s not mine…
Mine is in my signature which I copied here:
My Off-Season Project:
Can be found HERE & HERE
And then there is my classic purple car HERE.
(I really need another pic of that one. The license plate is not there anymore, nor are the hubcaps, and the decal on the hood is showing it’s age.)
I finally got the photo from Elgin and uploaded it yesterday. See my “Who Am I Pic” with my Mustang in it.
P.S. I want to thank whoever approved it. That was much faster than I ever expected! I uploaded the pic in the image gallery and I went back out to the Portal and it was already up.
I have a 1972 plymoth roadrunner, it is in decent shape, and i am customizing it, i currently have a 440 under the hood, no mods yet. I have gotten it upwards of 120 MPH :-> with just that, but i do plan on adding a better carb, blower, headers ETC… Ill upload a pic, soon as i get my digicam fixed.
