Does anyone else forsee problems with having to redesign your website around the new FIRST logo? Because according to their usage document you have to leave a border around it, as well as keep either the white or black, you can’t change the background color of it. Also they say that you should use a certain font with it.

The usage document can be seen here

I don’t see any problems, unless your site has one of those problems explicitly defined in the standards document.

Because according to their usage document you have to leave a border around it,

I assume you’re referring to “protected area” on page six. That’s not a border–that’s simply leaving a little space around the logo. Crunching it in just looks funky.

as well as keep either the white or black, you can’t change the background color of it.

FIRST doesn’t seem to have a problem with the background color. Hence page thirteen, which refers to “white or pale colored backgrounds” and “black or dark colored backgrounds.”

Also they say that you should use a certain font with it.

I’m not the clearest on that. I know FIRST prefers these typefaces, and we’ll probably see a lot of them in the 2005 manual. But I think it might be useful for some team guidance on that.

When I download and started to play with the images, it appears to me that the protected areas are there. Just don’t crop the image and you should be fine.
