I cannot find a rule stating if their is or is not a robot height restriction of if we have an arm if it can extend an absurd height above the robot for example. I know extending 5 feet high is probably to high but I cannot find a rule against it. If anyone can answer that or has questions of their own then please post them here.
R03. In the STARTING CONFIGURATION, the maximum ROBOT size (excluding BUMPERS) must be constrained to a volume of 33 in. by 28 in. by 55 in. tall (~83 cm by ~71 cm by ~139 cm tall)
G05 does restrict width and depth during the match, but I don’t see anything about height after the match starts. In particular, there is no exception for the endgame, when you really need to reach up to that 7’ rung (OK, you’ve got a 3-1/2" boost). Unlimited.
Thanks so much! It is hard to find rules in the hand book since it is about 140 pages long! That rule could make very interesting matches since our goal is to lift things up very high! What about climbing? I noticed that their is that middle bar that robots climb but that appears to have only space for one robot unless robots grab onto the sides which does not appear safe. When I say sides I mean the rectangular tubing that if you look at the bar from a birds eye view it makes it into a “U” with the rectangular tubing on the sides. I saw other thread that seem to think that is where the climb but that doesn’t seem stable having tubing carry 3 robots
Do they actually grab the purple part of the scale that is between the middle tower and the platform we place blocks on? If it is then that doesn’t seem safe considering the fact that it is at an angle
Thanks so much! This may be a very interesting game since during matches it is unlimited other than of course I doubt they would be fine with someone using an arm or extension to become like 20 feet tall. I wouldn’t recommend doing that anyway.
