If you do, all you have to do is work near a place that is having a field built and pull up the customer records for the items listed and volla we will have the full BOM. If anyone wants to know if they work near one just look at the list of kickoffs.
I might be wrong, but I don’t believe that there is going to be a field at every remote kickoff, only some. I’d love to see one at Richmond but wasn’t planning to.
And to comment on your suggestion about finding out the complete BOM, first of all, it wouldn’t completely work. Chances are they bought much much more than they actually used, if they bought it from there. Second, they (they being FIRST) could very well have used parts they already had and then checked to see that they are all at Home Depots. Third, in Oddessy of the Mind (another high school competition that works are at building creativity), they would have certainly giving your team a “spirit of the problem,” penalty. Its an interesting rule that they have to prevent teams from finding loop-holes and such.
I am really impressed by your inginuity though. And yes, personally if I did work at a Home Depot in NH, I’d be tempted to sneak a peak!
