Does awards/alliance selection really need to start at 7 am at Champs?

This is pretty miserable

Well if you are going to make Einstein and the finals last over three hours you need to make sure you have time for it.

Some people talk for quite a long time during Einstein…

This competition is more than a test of the team’s technical abilities

Atleast it’s 8am for those back on the east coast.

Up at 5 AM Pacific to see it, but are any of the streams actually going to be up?

No.

As a team with among the longest bus rides home tonight… this event should really get pushed back an hour. It’s pretty universally agreed upon by our team members that we’d trade getting home an hour later for an extra hour of sleep/prep in the morning.

I think I’d have regretted staying at a further out hotel if we’d gotten in.

Round Robin takes a while.

I woke up at 5am for 23 minutes of Blair giving me 2 minutes of information I already had. :frowning:

Agreed. It is going to be a long day. But still not a lot time between alliance selection and match start to organize your alliance. So much for the cheese cake. You also need to move your pit to the field. It all takes a little time

Last time I did this from home was 2016, when I was full of youth. I am but an old man now, tired and out of my league.

Just remember that it’s the best it will be right now because it doesn’t get better from here.

Seven is too early. I am there in person, and we have to be leaving the hotel by six thirty to make it there on time, with six fifteen being more realistic. For us, that means getting up at five thirty to shower, dress, and eat breakfast.

We are lucky to have a hotel that accommodated our needs, but if that wasn’t the case, we would either have to get breakfast at the convention center, or stop somewhere in the way there, causing us to wake up even earlier. Seven thirty, or even eight would have been nicer.

Yeah waking up at 6:15 so I can get ready in time to be there at 7 isn’t really that fun. An extra hour of sleep would be really nice (even though I’d probably be too excited to sleep the extra hour)
