My team is considering buying the new Pneumatics Hub, but we were concerned about its backwards compatibility with older components.
Yes you can use a mix of components. However, note that R617-A allows only a PCM to be hooked up to the small (Weidmuller) terminals on the PDP. It’s not legal to hook up a Rev PH there, so a Rev PH will have to be wired to a normal PDP output (one of the Wago terminals).
R617 is about the radio power.
R621 tells you how to power the PCM and PCH (among other things). Either way, a 20A breaker with a single pneumatic controller with a compressor, or up to three PCM/PCH with no compressor or non-radio VRMs.
Edit: Oh, that’s legal too! But certainly not recommended if you’re powering the radio there!
My reference to R617 was specifically this statement in R617-A:
With the exception of a single CTR Electronics Pneumatics Control Module (PCM, P/N am-2858), no other electrical load shall be connected to these PDP terminals
R617-A was updated in Team Update 06 to allow a Rev PH be connected in the same way as a PCM.
