Don't draw faces on cones

(It effects the vision)

8044 had t-shirts at Magnoiia featuring a cone with a tuft of hair and what was clearly the face of Bert from Sesame Street. Only as I was about to leave (after the field elements were disassembled and the walls were coming down) did I see that 364 had companion shirts featuring a 2023 cube in orange with a lot more hair and Ernie’s face. I’ll see if I can get a pic of the two together at Bayou, where both will be competing.

I agree this does affect game pieces if being used for competition, but if you wanted fun companions for the long car rides, it can’t hurt. We named our cone with a face “fred” and he rode in the trailer.

That cone is looking sus.

Our game pieces have been through a range of emotions over the course of build season.

This is what comes of telling students NOT to do something, when there’s no particular reason not to. Vision programmers can have a few pristine pieces of their own.

There’s not just no reason not to, there’s a very good reason to do so:

And Effecting the Vision is what FIRST is all about!
