Hey guys, I know that this has been mentioned in another thread but just another reminder not to forget to fill out your release forms if you plan on attending ANY FIRST events! You can fill it out online this year.
“The FIRST Student Team Members and Parents/Legal Guardians Information System and the Electronic Consent and Release Form are now available! Keep in mind that students who choose to submit an Electronic Consent and Release Form and are attending a Kickoff Event, must submit online no later than January 6th, 2010. For more details: http://usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/content.aspx?id=15999”
As I was told; Every STUDENT on the team MUST sign up through the system and complete an electronic form.
If this is overly redundant, I’m hoping a Mod will delete the thread.
The January 6th deadline is for attending a kick-off event. The deadline for a competition is later.
Right now, the Student Team Member and Parents System is not functional. There have been problems with the Team Information Management System (TIMS) at FIRST this weekend (server down, database crash, and whatever else Murphy got into). I don’t think students will be able to register until TIMS gets sorted out…hopefully soon!
Also, don’t fret if you don’t get signed up in this system. As I read the teams can also submit paper consent forms at the event, as mentors and other adults traveling will need to do this.
Another note, if you do the paper forms MAKE COPIES OF THEM… many of the local kickoffs will take your copies, but those DO NOT COUNT when you have to turn them in to FIRST for the regional events. So making copies saves you having to do them twice.
