Door Motor Wire gage

This is probably a stupid question but Dose anybody know what is the minimum gage is for wiring the door motor?

The wiring size is determined by the breaker that you decide to use. See <R72> to <R76>, <R83> and Q/A ID 1161.

Or, for lowest resistance just use 12AWG everywhere.

Thank you. your help is much appreciated

#10 has lower resistance than #12 hence the ability to use a 30 or 40 amp breaker with the #10.

This year’s rules only specify #12 for the 40 amp breaker, and 14 for the 30 amp breaker.

But don’t forget the “minimum wire guage” is not the best for your purposes. My recommendation is #10 for Chalupas, FP, Drills or anything that could be run from a 30 or 40 amp breaker.
