The wiring size is determined by the breaker that you decide to use. See <R72> to <R76>, <R83> and Q/A ID 1161.

Or, for lowest resistance just use 12AWG everywhere.

#10 has lower resistance than #12 hence the ability to use a 30 or 40 amp breaker with the #10.

Yes,
But don’t forget the “minimum wire guage” is not the best for your purposes. My recommendation is #10 for Chalupas, FP, Drills or anything that could be run from a 30 or 40 amp breaker.
