Double Loading 775 Pinion

So I know that the 775 shaft is small, and double loading is probably not the best idea, but if you supported the other end with a bearing, would it be safer to double load it? I know teams like 254 double loaded their CIM/ Mini CIM shafts with the help of bearings. Basically this would require a small dowel to be inserted into the end of the 775 pinion, since the shaft doesn’t fill the entire pinion. In the model, I chose a 8t 20 DP pinion from Vex since it seems to have more meat to the pinion compared to the 6t 20 DP and 12t 32 DP.

Has anybody done something like this before?

How do you ensure that the bearing’s axis is aligned with the axis of the motor shaft. I would suspect if the two were not aligned, it would lead to damage in the motor bearings regardless of any loading on the pinion.
