Draw/Simulate Gears in Browser

Just a random thing I got linked to today that I thought might be of some value to teaching students gear ratios.

http://www.gearsket.ch

And it’s open source https://github.com/frankleenaars/gearsketch

Great, another way for me to waste time on the computer. THANKS Andrew. :stuck_out_tongue:

This thing is super fun to play with!

Annnddd suddenly, I’m using my new computer to play with gears online.

YES…

Thanks for posting this. I’ll make use of this in school.

That was the hope

Is this what Dean uses to design his clocks/trophies?

You might want to add an idler or 20.

And here I thought I was cool, making a gear go really slow…

im gonna procrastinate so much with this…

I already have procrastinated way too much with this thing

Thanks this is going to hopefully help a lot

It appears that the original site went down (too many CDers using it perhaps? ) so I mirrored it on my own server at http://socaldevs.com/gearsketch
The only difference is that I added a link to the open source license according to the terms of redistribution included with the license.
Enjoy
