So Dreamhost, the web hosting service that our team uses, just sent out their monthly newsletter. They have this program where people sign into their web panel and donate to a specific charity (of DH’s choosing), and DH will quadruple the total overall donation. FIRST
FIRST was founded by Dean Kamen, the prolific inventor of such things as inexpensive water purification systems for third world countries, a wearable insulin pump for diabetics, a revolutionary robotic arm for amputees, and the Segway personal transporter for rich people.
FIRST’s mission is to “inspire young people to be science and technology leaders by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self- confidence, communication, and leadership.”
