So today, while I was teaching someone how to drive our robot, something strange occurred. The robot code light blinked at a constant rate from green to red and the “No Robot Communication” message also appeared and went away at the same constant rate.
Also, I have not changed the code on the robot since nationals and it has been working fine until today. I think it is an issue with the bridge but I am not entirely sure. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Not the same indicators - but we recently had situations where the robot would not respond to driver controls perfectly - even times in matches at THOR where it died on the field (Field techs had trouble setting it up in bridge mode too). We replaced the bridge and it worked perfectly for IROC…(other things went wrong though…naturally).
You can try resetting your radio using the FIRST provided bridge configuration utility. I’ve noticed that radios that don’t operate properly usually don’t program properly either.
If you still have issues you can try upgrading/restoring the firmware on the radio to version 2.03.
My team(4817) is having the same exact issue. The robot code light is flashing at a constant rate. This problem appeared randomly when we were driving the robot. So far we have:
Tested for electrical noise by adding capacitors to the wires leading to the router.
Reimaged the cRIO
Reimaged our Classmate
After trying all of this the robot would still not work reliably on WiFi. One thing that we did notice is that when we tethered the robot it would solve this issue. Please let me know if you find a way to solve this problem.
