"Success Won’t Wait" Children’s Book Drive
- The Duel has had a partnership with “Success Won’t Wait” for over a decade. Their organization “Success Won’t Wait” website has been very successful. So much, that they do not need most books anymore - they have too many in their warehouse. What they do need, however is CHILDREN’S BOOKS. So, we are modifying our book drive contest to ONLY collect children’s books. The contest will be to bring the largest NUMBER of children’s books to donate. The team bringing the largest number will be recognized.
Mike Wade Memorial “Duel Master Volunteer” Award
- Mike Wade worked for NASA Goddard and single-handedly is responsible for the creation of a number of off-season events on the East Coast. Please honor his memory by submitted the great things that a mentor or volunteer is doing for your team
- Teams can submit one nominee who has not yet won the award from their team
- The nomination form has been emailed to all teams and submissions are due Friday, October 4th
- Please recognize a worthy volunteer on your team. All submissions will be posted at the event and on the Duel on the Delaware website
7th Annual Chairman’s Award Warm-Up Practice
- This is an opportunity for teams to practice their Chairman’s Award presentation in front of judges
- All information has been sent in an email to all registered teams
- Our purpose for doing this is to provide teams another opportunity to practice with real judges (we expect to have at least one of the judges be an experienced Chairman’s Award judge) and to provide some helpful feedback for teams as they prepare for the 2019 competition season.
Duel Special Awards
- Student judged awards from 316 and 365 are currently being determined
