DXF to SVG converter

I was using Illustrator to convert DXF files from Solid works to SVG files to use on our glowforge. I had access to Illustrator because I was in a computer graphics class, but since 2nd semester started, I don’t have access to it anymore. I’ve asked the tech guy at our school for access to it but he hasn’t approved it yet. Are there any other methods of converting these files?

Use Inkscape. its a free open source image editor that can convert these files! https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-load-a-dxf-into-inkscape

I used to do this with inkscape because the xcarve software would only import svg’s (it now takes dxf). But I cant remember the exact process.

It was a pain and the scaling wasn’t always correct.

Edit: sniped

All the online converters that I have tried either don’t convert it correctly or don’t scale it

There indeed was a DXF export scaling bug in a prior version of Inkscape, but it has since been fixed. Seconded on Inkscape. Great program.
