ED 3.0 on MTV...

ED 3.0 on MTV … well, sorta.

We made a quick video of the last big push to complete our robot, ED 3.0, during the final weekend before shipping. OK, so we know that this experience is not unique. But it is just because so many teams always seem to end up doing 60% of the robot construction during the last 5% of the construction period that we thought you might enjoy sharing in our pain (yes, we are begging for a little bit of empathy here! :stuck_out_tongue: ).

You can see the video here (it is a 4-1/2 minute, 60MB QuickTime file - so be ready for a big download). Turn up your speakers.

There is also a pair of pictures in the photo gallery.

My co-workers said to tell you “Nice job” on this. They really liked it (especially Sherie and Karen who already think you’re about the cutest thing around, and want to know when you’re going to fix your web-cam) and are really impressed with the amount of work that went into this project. They want to know if all Eric did was eat, and the prize winning question: ‘How does drilling holes in the robot make it lighter?’ (asked by at least four people, sheesh.) And if I hadn’t cracked up laughing they would have believed my ‘explanation’ of wind resistance, and laws of motion, and other such physics gobbledy-gook.
