Edit doesn't work on original title posts???

Edit doesn’t work on original titles???

Brandon,
I tried editing my thread’s title and it didn’t work.
When I do a search for all new threads the word remember is still spelled like I originally spelled it - wrong!!

Why?

Just curious, I’ve run into this before.

It’s locked after X amount of time.

After X amount of time, it just edits the title of the first post, and not the thread.

This is to keep peoples sanity in tact when looking at the thread lists.

I’d be confused if the title kept changing every few hours. I’d be tricked into thinking its a new thread.

If a thread needs to be edited after X amount of time, let me know and I can edit the main title.

X is a few hours, if I remember right.

Well I edited it a few minutes after I posted it and it only changed the title in the actual post and not in the search window list.

Is there any way to change that for a typo?

I have tried to edit posts a day after I posted them as well and know what your talking about on that aspect, it just doesn’t allow you to, but that’s OK.

Can I always just delete it and repost the thread?
Will that fix it, I assume?

I know that after 24 hrs you can’t edit your posts at all.

I also know that I’ve tried to chagne titles a few times (just minutes after I posted), and it didn’t. I’m guessing this is a miss-setting in the DB.

And yes, you could delete… just don’t if people have allready posted because there posts will be deleted too.

editing the title of the post only changes half of the title. In the forum display, the title is unchanged, however, in the thread display the little black bold text at the top of the post is changed.

Here is what is set:

1 day to edit a post.
5 minutes to edit a title.

If you need to edit a thread title due to spelling/grammar mistakes after 5 minutes… send me a PM.

Sweetness!!!
