Einstein matches actual times

Hey everyone,
As for the schedule on the Championship website the Einstein matches are supposed to be over by 5:00 PM.
Can anyone confirm that FIRST were on schedule in last years? Was there any delay on schedule, if so how much?
Thank you.

5 PM Pacific Time, maybe. Not 5 PM local time, though. Just about never happens.

Trust me, you’re going to be best off staying an extra night. Unless you want to miss the last couple rounds on Einstein.

Pacific Time is 2 hours ahead of St. Louis, which is on Central Time. That means that 5 PM in St. Louis is 3 PM in Los Angeles, where I’m from. 5 PM Pacific = 7 PM Central. In the past, I’ve been at Championship and seen a clock saying it was past 7 PM, and the final match still hasn’t played. I think they’ve gotten better, but better is a relative term.

Last year, the final two matches started just before 6:00 and were over (followed by the chairman’s award) around 7:00 Central time. I think that’s a tad later than average over the last few years, but with 8 divisions, and tons of robot abuse at the end of a long season, we’ll likely see lots of timeouts and robot substitutions dragging out the tournament even longer. I always plan to leave Sunday morning after Championships. If I were flying out the same night, I’d be hesitant to schedule a flight before 10 PM or so.

Based on past experience, 5pm CDT is quite a conservative estimate.

I definitely remember the Einstein finals + Chairman’s ceremony ending before 7:30 pm CDT, However, the nature of this year’s game (defense selections, time needed to repair robots, defense replacement) leads me to believe that we’ll go even later due to timeouts, replacements, et al.
