Elevator Actuated Arm Extension Design Demonstrated with LEGO

I created a Lego model of an arm extension mechanism coupled with the elevator’s movement. A stopper holds the arm upright when the elevator is at the bottom. When the elevator extends, the arms fall due to gravity and are stopped at a 90-degree angle. The downside to this is that the length of the arm is fixed when it is extended. It also challenges the strength of the stopper and the arm.

Any thoughts?
