What’s a really, really simple way to build an elevator? We’re debating options and we’re not terribly adept at building complicated systems yet. It’s also not supposed to be terribly high up, so shouldn’t need to be too beefy either.
Vendors have good guides. You could set up vertical chain, then bolt a long piece of aluminum at the bottom just above sprocket. When chain is driven, the aluminum move up. Similar designs were used to climb last year.
If this is your first time dealing with elevators, I would look into COTS elevators (like the ones from thriftybot, andymark, and WCP). Creating a custom elevator can be difficult and take a lot of time. (offseason project)
