I’ve got it set up so that I receive daily email notifications for threads that I have posted in. This is a rather handy feature, when I’m not browsing CD often, but when I’ve already checked CD for the day, often I get an email with the posts in it that I’ve already read.
This got me thinking. What if the notification emails (sent out at midnight) only were sent out if the thread hadn’t been read, or only sent out about posts that I haven’t read? I would think that this would be pretty trivial to implement, since CD already tracks if I’ve read a thread, and how much of it I’ve read. And would get rid of, for example, the three emails that I received tonight, the two last night, and so on, but leave me with the emails notifying me that someone posted when I’m not checking CD very often.
