Hi everyone! Aragon Robotics is planning on hosting EmpowerHer Showdown!
What: An offseason competition where we will be requiring the technical roles of robot driver and pit crew to be held by female and non-binary team members. Our purpose is to give female and nonbinary students on FRC teams the opportunity to fully experience a FIRST competition by undertaking roles typically dominated by their male counterparts.
When: It will be a one day comp on October 21st
Where: it will be held at Aragon High School (San Mateo, CA).
Registration: estimated around $250-$350.

Is this event restricted to typically co-ed teams, or would an all-girls/non-binary team participating still fit your mission for the event?
The comp is not restricted to co-ed teams, all girls/non binary teams are more than welcome to participate!
How many teams are signed up so far?
Hello! We currently have had 8 teams registered so far (however there were 18 teams that showed interest in the event so that is the number we are aiming for!)

Is there a cutoff date for deciding if you’ll have the event?
That’s a great question! The cutoff date for deciding whether the event will be hosted or not will also be on the 15th of September as well, so hopefully we’ll get enough teams by then
will this be livestreamed? 751 will be attending but I don’t think I’m able to go, but I’d love to still virtually support our team and this event
Sorry for the late reply! As of now, we are trying livestreaming out, still not sure if we will be able to get it running by the competition, will definitely let you know when I get that information from the team!

Not an 840 member, but this event is no longer happening? There should have been an email sent out afaik
