Can we use these encoders for swervedrive?
From what I understand, yes. They are absolute encoders and should work for swerve.
Speaking from our team’s experience, we initially ordered four SRX Mag Encoders but ended up having a terrible time getting them to work with our Spark MAXs. We tried the breakout boards and all that. Maybe we missed something along the way, but in the end we bought four CANCoders which were much easier to figure out. They are more expensive though.
That’s what we have for our main robot but we are fortunate enough to have been able to get another set for off season events and other things so before going and buying 4 more of those we already had these so wanted to make sure and we could use them before pouring time into a project that wouldn’t work
You know these are cheaper and work just as well for swerve modules if you wire them to the roboRIO?
and these are $4 more expensive but work really well with sparkmaxes (bc they’re designed to)
