…I just got the reference. It only took five days :joy:. Now if I could only figure out why it is called a TRAP.

Is this really why? I know the term, and didn’t connect the dots.

I know why we have theming for games, but I wish we didn’t.

I assumed the trap was referring to the door… didn’t think they was any theme connection lol

That makes sense. I was trying to figure out the reference, but I was only thinking about it from the music perspective rather than the more broad category of performances/concerts.

I got the reference pretty quickly.

As a lighting guy, SPOTLIGHT is a fun one. hehehehe…

Oh, and as a bonus stage reference, unintended I’m sure: All FRC events have a Pit.

Pit: Sunken front of stage, usually used to hide the orchestra. Often but not always able to be raised for maximum stage area (as a very large Trap.

It is called the stage… 3 trap doors on a stage. I guess with some stage crew background it was obvious but I see how it might not be.

Oh duh.

I hate it here.

Also, the high note is scored higher (on the mic) than all of the other notes. It works on multiple levels. Well done!

TRAP is probably better than Deus ex Machina.

My first reaction to TRAP was a drum trap set. I didn’t consider a trap door; I think of those as usually being in the floor, not the wall.

Its where all of the unwanted parts go… Right? Then it’s buried like a time capsule for the GDC to reuse in 50 years /s

Our team has always had had a good chunk of it consist of theatre, pit orchestra, and stage crew kids (including me) so it didn’t even phase me haha. Ironically this year we lose half our team at our only regional because of the spring musical this year; recruiting middle schoolers really comes in clutch this year.

We are losing several to Mamma Mia on and off for rehearsals and performances during the late build season as they are either stage crew, pit orchestra or in the show itself on stage.

What, no Orbit Balls in that pit? Oh right, there aren’t any.

But maybe a mini-bot …

Yeah it’s always rough. We get lucky enough that musical rehearsal and set building is right after school (3ish) and we don’t meet until 5. But this year is extra difficult as the Wisconsin Regional changed to a Fri-Sun competition this year, so not only will it be half days on Friday and Saturday, but also miss all of Sunday.

If I had Photoshop skills, I would totally change the pit to a giant tote.

I’ll make some fixes, any others for the “Pit”?

Minibot Pole, Grey rookie tote from 2015, Orbit balls Check!

Yellow or grey? I’ll take a whack at it

I think gray would work as the rookie tote, at least for us, is used for storing random old parts.

I just wish we had an auto-spot and We didn’t have to aim the spot :joy:
