Engineering Teacher Position in So. California

Hello CD.

The TVT Community Day School in Irvine California contacted me recently, asking if I knew of anyone interested in starting an engineering program from the ground up.

Sounds like an amazing opportunity, just not something I’m qualified to do. So, I thought I’d pass it along here. Here is a job description:

Their Director of Curriculum is Jon Cassie (jcassie at tarbut dot com)

This looks awesome, but I really hope they get someone with at least some industry experience. In my opinion a masters degree in a related field only goes so far. I have always gotten so much more out of classes taught by someone who has been outside of academia.

If only I had a Masters Degree… Working at / running an engineering academy a la Dos Pueblos has been a dream of mine recently. If anyone in NorCal is down to work towards starting one, lemme know.

So you don’t want to do FRC anymore?

I mean hey, if VEX ever makes an FRC-equivalent, I’d be down to switch as long as California gets districts
