European teams - how do you import?

Hi,
This will be a topic that a lot of you can just skip, but I want to create this thread so that I can get some answers or post the answers myself once I get to something. Here it goes:
I’m the coach of team 5996 based in the Czech republic. On the 6th of January, we created an order at Andymark that includes game pieces, Neo motors, springs and SPORT gearboxes.

I have received a message from FedEx that by the EU regulation 833/2014’s modification from 1st October 2023, Appendix VII, we need a proof that the raw steel hasn’t been produced in Russia. This needs to be in form of MTC (mill test certificate) type 3.1 or 3.2.

Have any other teams in Europe faced this issue in the past months? How did you solve this? Can Andymark provide me with these documents or do I have to get it from the manufacturer (REV, Vulcan etc.)?

Any help on this will be very much appreciated, I would love to get the Notes to my team as our knockoffs just don’t squeeze so well :upside_down_face:.

I would definitely reach out to AndyMark by phone or email. I imagine especially for their custom parts they have the proper material documentation.

Thanks, I’ve reached out this morning, I hope they will get back with the documentation. That will be the ideal solution. I’m mostly worried about the NEOs that are probably purchased from REV within the US.

I did hear about this from another Dutch FTC team that ordered some stuff at GoBilda. Luckily we haven’t had any troubles ourselves yet. (knocks on wood)

I think the from mainly accounts for the spring you’ve ordered? We already received some stuff in the EU from REV after this new EU regulation.

I haven’t been informed on which items are the main concern since FedEx keeps asking about what is in the package over and over again:) - there are steel pieces in everything except the game pieces.
Unfortunately, it seems that the regulation is not applied to the same extent by every office, we received a package from WCP without any mention of such a ruling about two months ago.
If I get some reasonable answer from anyone, I will keep you updated in case you run into the same barrier in the future (I really hope that it doesn’t happen to anyone)
